COOK TIME: 40 minutes
COURSE: Appetizer
CUISINE: American
SERVINGS: 4 servings

EQUIPMENT:

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • Parchment paper or foil
  • Tongs
  • Measuring spoons

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra smokiness)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Prepare the Wings

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Place a wire rack on top if using.
  3. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to help them crisp up during baking.

Step 2: Season the Wings

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, and smoked paprika.
  2. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Toss thoroughly until the wings are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.

Step 3: Bake the Wings

  1. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack.
  2. Bake for 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  3. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 2–3 minutes at the end, watching carefully to prevent burning.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

  1. Remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
  3. Serve hot with celery sticks and a side of ranch or blue cheese dip if desired.

TIPS:

  • For even crispier wings, let them air-dry in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours before baking.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper based on your heat preference.
  • These wings can also be cooked in an air fryer at 380°F for 20–25 minutes, shaking halfway through.
