  • 1/4 cup spicy mustard or aioli
  • Olive oil spray (for grilling, optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Cook the Hot Dogs

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a gentle boil or preheat a grill pan over medium heat.
  2. If boiling, add hot dogs and cook for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  3. If grilling, lightly spray with olive oil and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until evenly browned.
  4. Remove from heat and set aside. Lightly toast buns if desired.

Step 2: Prepare the Toppings

  1. Wash and chop lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and any additional vegetables.
  2. Sauté sliced bell peppers and onions in a skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes until tender.
  3. Place each topping into small bowls for easy serving.

  2. Surround them with small bowls of toppings, cheeses, and sauces.
  3. Keep colors and textures varied for a visually appealing spread.

  2. Encourage balanced builds by mixing fresh veggies with flavorful sauces and proteins.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy!

TIPS:

  • Offer lean turkey or plant-based hot dogs for lighter options.
  • Add extra protein choices like chili, black beans, or grilled chicken slices.
  • Include healthier sauce swaps such as Greek yogurt-based dressings.
  • For a lower-carb option, serve with lettuce wraps instead of buns.
